Music & Arts
Music Appreciation
Students are given multiple opportunities to experience many styles of music. A strong emphasis in praise and worship music is used to explore lyrics, rhythm, melody, harmony and instrumentation. The final outcome is to produce a well-rounded curriculum where students are motivated to perform with passion and so engage their audience to do the same.
Theater Performance
From pre-school age to 12th grade, the medium of theater is a great way for students to “put themselves in another person’s shoes.” From being characters in a children’s story in pre-school to performing a full-length musical on the big stage in middle and high school, students are given an understanding of performing on and off-stage.
Art Program
The Art program is growing at Grace Academy! We offer standards-based, age-appropriate lessons for K-3 through High School. Our lessons are based upon deepening understanding of the elements and principles of design. Yearly we build upon enhancement of skills in craftsmanship and technique.
We maintain a Biblical emphasis in our classroom. While every lesson is not directly from the Bible, we strive to inculcate it’s principles during each class. We strive to focus on the beauty of God’s creation. Art helps us take a closer look at who we are as God’s children, as well as how to look at His world through various projects.
A few of the benefits of art are: promoting creative thinking, problem solving, discernment, and strengthening focus. At a time when many schools are putting most of their emphasis on “test prep”, Grace Academy values the need for a well-balanced education in the Arts.
