An annual giving update
We kick-started our 40th Anniversary year by installing our gymnasium divider (a $12,000 project!) with funds raised during the May 2016 Washington County Gives. As we continue to grow, the gym divider has given us more flexible scheduling to allow two physical education classes to occur simultaneously in the same space.
Each year, we also mail letters to our families and supporters to offer the opportunity to give a tax-deductible gift to impact Grace Academy students. At year end 2016 (Oct. 1 - Dec. 31), we were so grateful to receive more than $21,000 toward our general fund and designated funds. Designated funds include gifts given for specific areas of impact such as student scholarships, missions trips, and teacher supplies.
Our general fund assists our school in regular maintenance and utility needs. After all, keeping the lights on and the electricity running are essential to student learning! To date, we are just $1,284 shy of meeting our $20,000 general fund goal by June 30, 2017. Would you prayerfully consider giving to help us fulfill our $1,284 general fund need by June 30? Gifts are accepted via online giving, check mailed to the school, or credit card over the phone.
As spring 2017 came around, we were grateful to once again participate in Washington County Gives, a 24-hour day of giving. This year, funds raised from WCG supported the purchase of our second iPad set (30 iPads total) for elementary student and athletic program uses. Thank you to those who helped us raise more than $6,828.60, which includes donations and matching funds provided by the Washington County Community Foundation!
Another highlight worth celebrating is Grace Gives Back, a school-wide day of service. All of our students elementary through high school participated in some capacity, and we received many notes of positive feedback from the day. Grace Gives Back was made possible in large part by our parent planning committee and volunteer adult leaders, who gave a total of 344 hours! Additionally, our students gave more than 1,400 hours of volunteer service! We look forward to Grace Gives Back 2018, set for Monday, April 30.
As we take time to thank God for all He has accomplished through Grace Academy, we think of Ephesians 2:10. “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” What began with just Mary Michael and five students in her home was multiplied into a 48 thousand square foot facility with more than 50 faculty members and 350 students. It is amazing to see how God has provided the momentum for growth since Grace Academy’s start! We are confident He will continue to be with us every step of the way.
Without the support and many prayers from our supporters, Grace Academy would not be what it is today. We thank everyone who has made an impact on the lives of students for the Gospel! We look forward to keeping you updated, and as always, please reach out to us at the school if you have any questions.
