Grace Academy to receive visit from Principal of Limai Chinese School
Grace Academy will welcome Principal Li Zhiyong from the Limai Chinese American (International) School in Lamai, China on Friday, January 13 at 10 a.m. at Grace Academy. This is the first visit Grace Academy will receive from the principal of an international partner school.
“Schools in China are shifting to integrate western teaching methods of engaging students in the classroom while maintaining their Chinese culture,” said Brian Kelley, international student program administrator. “Principal Zhiyong’s visit confirms that trend and signifies Limai’s strong desire to grow its partnership with Grace Academy.”
Zhiyong’s visit will include a school-wide welcome assembly, a tour of the school, meeting staff and faculty, and lunch in the community. Zhiyong will be accompanied by Edmond Mai, a representative of Blue Ivy NY Education Group.
After Zhiyong’s visit, the Limai school in China expects Kelley to visit their school and meet their staff in late spring of this year. Kelley will be the fourth Grace Academy representative to visit partner schools in China since its International Student Program began in 2009.
Grace Academy’s International Student Program has attracted students from more than 12 different countries, including Germany, South Korea and Australia, and currently has 45 international students enrolled. It includes short term and long term academic stays, week-long summer English language immersion groups, and custom English language immersion trips. The International Student Program extends Grace Academy’s mission to “enhance the God-given potential in each student through quality Christian education” to influence students overseas.
