February Headmaster Highlights

Dear Parents, February was a month of many exciting events and programs. I would like to give a “shout-out” to the many teachers, judges and volunteers, under the leadership of Ms. Amy Casto, who have made our Fine Arts Competition the success it is. It was also a pleasure to personally be present to hand out awards during the Declamation Competition. We thank the scores of parents who attended while also providing food for our judges.

Grace Gives Back 2017

More than 360 Grace Academy students will not be in class but in the community on Monday, May 1, 2017 lending a hand to Washington County organizations for Grace Gives Back, a day of service. An additional parents, teachers, and alumni will participate in the day of service as leaders.

Employment Opportunities

Middle School Girls Soccer Coach The middle school girls soccer coach reports directly to the Athletic Director. Coaches are held to a high standard of integrity and Christ-like actions on and off the field. The coach is responsible for instructing student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. Grace Academy will welcome Principal Li Zhiyong from the Limai Chinese American (International) School in Lamai, China on Friday, January 13 at 10 a.m. at Grace Academy.

Grace Academy’s Headmaster, Dr. Mathew McIntosh, has published “Faith’s Fortune: The Assurance.” It is the final book in McIntosh’s “Faith’s Fortune” trilogy and is now available in digital and print.

Trout Are Coming to Grace Academy

Grace Academy’s sixth grade students will receive a hands-on learning experience through the Trout in the Classroom program. The trout eggs will be delivered to the classroom on Wednesday, December 14.

Winter Formal Dress Requirements

To ensure Winter Formal is an event that honors God even while we get dressed up and have fun together, we enforce the following dress requirements. Gentlemen, ladies who do not attend Grace Academy also must follow these dress requirements.

Updated Drop-off Procedure

Our Parent Safety Committee, led by Dr. McIntosh, has been working diligently to address and propose safer parking lot solutions during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times. With the current drop-off procedure, many young children and other people cross lanes of traffic, at times walking from behind rows of parked vehicles causing on-coming drivers to hit the brakes. The Committee has received other feedback about minor vehicular collisions, which we would like to avoid.

As we move from Thanksgiving to the Christmas season, we have so much for which we are grateful. The recent inspirational 40th Gala celebration at the Fountainhead Country Club reflected that outpouring of support for Grace Academy which was remarkable.
