It's October already! We saw a great start to our 2016-17 school year, and we thank you for the part you played to make it a successful start. As the academic year progresses, I'd like to share some highlights with you about progress happening at Grace Academy.

Senior Class Fundraising Board

To help us fundraise for our mission trip to Nicaragua in March, Grace Academy seniors have made it fun and easy to donate. In the front lobby of the school is a brightly colored board with more than 200 opportunities to support their mission trip. Simply choose one of the envelopes (any envelope you want!), fill it with the designated amount and return it to Amy Casto or the main office. As envelopes are taken down, you will reveal our beautiful faces!

Urban Hope Mission Trip

Urban Hope will submerge students in the Philadelphia culture in the Kensington neighborhood. Students will take part in homeless ministry, cross-cultural neighborhood outreach, a prayer walk, and work with youth and kids ministries.

National High School Leadership Conference

We encourage our sophomores, juniors, and seniors to consider attending the ACSI Leadership Conference this fall designed specifically for them. Last year we took nine students and we would like just as many and more to join this year!

Grace Academy Headmaster publishes book two of “Faith’s Fortune” trilogy

Headmaster at Grace Academy Dr. Mathew McIntosh has published “Faith’s Fortune: The Legacy,” book two of the trilogy. “The Legacy” is available at Barnes and Noble and on Amazon.

Grace Academy implements one-to-one technology program

Grace Academy will give students in grades six through 12 their own HP laptops in August for in-class and at-home use through its new one-to-one technology program. Faculty and administration are looking forward to how the new program will benefit each student’s learning experience and success.

Grace Academy hires Hilary Lear as new girls varsity volleyball coach

Grace Academy is pleased to announce the addition of Hilary Lear to its coaching staff. Lear will lead the varsity girls volleyball team for the fall 2016 season.

Grace Academy girls take part in HCC “College for Kids”

Two Grace Academy students, Jenna Evans and Avah Rivera, don’t stop learning when the school goes on summer break. Evans, entering grade seven, and Rivera, entering grade eight, were intrigued to explore more of what the sciences have to offer through Hagerstown Community College’s College for Kids summer program.

Brian Kelley returns to Grace Academy as International Student Administrator

Grace Academy welcomes the return of Brian Kelley as its new International Student Administrator. Continuing to advance the International Student Program, Kelley’s leadership and vision will allow the school to have an even greater impact on students abroad for the Kingdom of God.

Grace Academy has unveiled the organization’s new logo and brand. Designed in-house, the new logo will better represent the school in its commitment to quality education, Biblical values and service to the tri-state area and around the world.
